This work reflects on how technology reshapes our self-image, revealing the tensions between human imperfection and artificial perfection.

This work reflects on how technology reshapes our self-image, revealing the tensions between human imperfection and artificial perfection.
This series explores identity and challenges us to reflect on what we choose to reveal or conceal. While selfies often present an idealized image, these selfportraits highlight imperfections, emotions, and darker aspects, emphasized through the use of light and shadow. Using a classical painting technique, the artist references a time when portraits were the first ‘selfies,’ inviting an honest look at ourselves.

Created during the 2020-2022 lockdowns, this series captures the emotions of that time: suffocating, anticipatory, and hopeful. Some works feature a window, symbolizing the inaccessible outside world and the inner reflection it evoked.
